I'll Always Be A #TechGirl

I'll Always Be A #TechGirl

I've always loved Tech, loving computers is probably part of my genetic makeup. 2021 for me generally has been filled with lots of studying, exams and non-stop learning. Learning is what I enjoy a lot but nothing excites me more than going back to my first love Web Development and even picked up new skills with Salesforce early this year.

A few years back, I designed #Wordpress websites as a side hustle & also maintained a successful Blog that brought tremendous opportunities my way; nominations, recognitions, speaking gigs, etc, and barely 5years after all that it was hacked. In my case, "devastation" was a nice word, I was beyond devastated. All my hard work, sweat, data.....gone! I'm a professional Google Search specialist <if there's any role that like; because if it's on the web, I'll find it> but that couldn't save me. Losing all my hard work broke me and also occurred around the same time I had to leave my job, had a baby and life pretty much happened.

I'm a good starter, think up ideas and move with them. 6 months after, I got something going but not Tech related. I was still "fighting" with myself. For months, I barely touched my laptop or even the idea of starting again, not sure of what words I can use to explain how I felt. I was just avoiding myself.

In 2021[almost 6 years after], I decided It was time. Time to face ME, I'm not going to let this win. This time it's different, with 2 beautiful daughters juggling everything and studying to get back on track isn't easy but it's absolutely worth it.

I'll keep sharing my Rediscovery journey as I progress, hopefully, to inspire and connect with someone out there in the world, who might have experienced what I have and is on a path to a new career change or a path back into the groove. I'm also grateful for the encouragement and push from people who never knew me but saw ME when I couldn't even see myself < that must mean something right>.

Since I got back to learning Frontend Development, with my fingers on the keyboard and my daughters screaming, Mummy Mummy!! I just smile and say to myself, "You're Back".
